Frequently asked questions

Short answers about B2B prospecting, company data and how Propler works – including for readers outside Norway.

Frequently asked questions

How do I find B2B leads in Norway?

Start from Norway's public company register (Brønnøysundregistrene), narrow it down by industry, region and size, and then research the companies that fit before you reach out. Propler's free company search covers the Norwegian register, and its AI search ranks companies against a description of what you sell. See the guide How to find B2B leads in Norway.

How can I find potential customers in Europe?

Each country has its own official business register and procurement portal, and EU public tenders are published on TED. Propler's company search covers Norway today; other European markets are not available in Propler yet. Our market guides explain where to look in each country.

What is B2B sales prospecting?

Prospecting is the work of finding and assessing companies that could become customers before you contact them: defining who you sell to, building a list of candidates, and prioritising those with a plausible need for what you offer.

What is AI prospecting?

AI prospecting uses language models and company data to interpret what you sell, search for matching companies and explain why each might fit. It speeds up research, but an AI match is decision support, not proof that a company wants to buy.

How do I find companies that might need my services?

Describe your service and the kind of company that benefits from it, then look for observable signals such as industry, size, growth, open job ads or public tenders. In Propler you can describe your offer in plain language and get Norwegian companies ranked with the reasons behind each match.

How do I build a qualified B2B prospect list?

Define your ideal customer, pick firmographic criteria you can actually check in public data, collect matching companies, and score them on fit and timing before outreach. Read How to build a qualified B2B prospect list.

How can I find contact information for Norwegian companies?

Many Norwegian companies register a phone number or e-mail address with Brønnøysundregistrene, and many list contact details on their own website. Propler shows business contact details where it has them and may use them; not every company has registered contact information, and Propler does not collect personal contact details for individuals.

How do I qualify B2B leads?

Check that the company fits your target market (industry, size, location, finances) and look for signs of a possible need, such as hiring or public tenders. Real buying interest can only be confirmed in conversation with the company.

Where can I find Norwegian company information and financial data?

Brønnøysundregistrene publishes register data and filed annual accounts, much of it as open data. Propler's company pages bring the register facts, roles and latest accounts together; how much financial data exists varies by company and legal form. See Norwegian company data: a complete guide.

How do I find suppliers and business partners in Scandinavia?

Define what the supplier must deliver, search the national business registers by industry and location, and check status, accounts and VAT registration before you commit. In Norway, Propler's AI search also works for buying needs, not just for finding customers. See How to find suppliers in Norway.

Doing business in Norway from abroad

Can I use Propler from outside Norway?

Yes. The website works from anywhere, and the free company search needs no login. What you search is Norwegian companies: Norway is the only market available in Propler today. Sweden, the United Kingdom and France are planned but not available.

How do I find business partners in Norway from abroad?

Decide what kind of partner you need (customers, distributors, suppliers or complementary partners), build a list from Norway's public company register by industry and region, check each company, and approach a few with a specific offer. See Finding business partners in Norway from abroad.

How do I verify a Norwegian company before doing business?

Look it up by its nine-digit organisation number in Brønnøysundregistrene's register: check status, legal form, board, CEO, who may sign, VAT registration and the latest filed accounts, and compare them with what the company told you. See How to verify a Norwegian company.

Do I need a Norwegian company to sell to customers in Norway?

Not to make contact or sell from abroad. If you carry out business activities in Norway, a foreign company usually needs a Norwegian organisation number, typically by registering a Norwegian branch (NUF) through Altinn.

Where do Norwegian public buyers announce tenders?

In Doffin, Norway's national notice database, and, above the EEA thresholds, also on TED, the EU's procurement portal, which covers Norway.

Can Propler tell me which Norwegian companies want to buy from me?

No. Propler's AI search suggests companies that may fit what you offer and explains the facts behind each suggestion, such as industry, size, accounts, hiring or public tenders. Whether a company actually has a need can only be confirmed in conversation with it.
